Venezuela Denounces Intensification of U.S. Aggressive Policy

Executive Vicepresident of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, denounced the continuity and intensification of the hostile policy of the United States against the South American nation in order to overthrow its government.
In 2015, the then U.S. president, Barack Obama issued a decree considering Venezuela a threat for the national security and foreign policy of the United States. Since then we knew the danger that situation entailed’, detailed the Executive Vicepresident.
She recalled the recent publication of a book written by a former official of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) who rendered testimony about a secret meeting in which Donald Trump expressed his intentions of making war on the South American nation for its great oil reserves and geographical position.
On January 23 last, the Trump administration recognized the Venezuelan opposition legislator Juan Guaido as president in Chargwe of Venezuela, action described by the Caracas aurhorities as a coup d’etat in the making.
During the last month, Washington intensified the economic sanctions against the government and the people of Venezuela, besides promoting the delivery of an alleged humanitarian aid from Colombia, fact that provoked opposition violent acts in the border, due to an attempted intervention denounced by the Bolivarian authorities.
Delcy Rodríguez assured that today Venezuela has Independence, liberty, dignity of the Great Homeland is at stake, thus the pertinence of the birth and setting up of the International Assembly of the Peoples.
The event will extend until Thursday as a space for debate of issues related with people’s sovereignty, human rights, social struggles, among others, with the participation of over 400 representatives of movements and political organizations of over 89 countries.
Meanwhile, in the border with Colombia, the protector of the State of Tachira, Freddy Bernal, says the forces deployed by Venezuela in the Colombian border, will remain there.
Bernal reported that the eve, commandos of irregular forces attacked on several occasions the bridges Simon Bolivar and Santander.
He reported that under both viaducts, criminal elements made handmade incendiary bombs -the known as Molotov cocktails- under the accomplice look of the Colombian Police and Army, showing the complicity of the Colombian government in the aggression on Venezuela.
In order to make Venezuelan forces responsible for repressive actions in the border, violent elements set fire to a truck that carried boxes of the so-called humanitarian aid at the Colombian side of the bridge Francisco de Paula Santander.
The Venezuelan government accused the Ivan Duque administration on Sunday of supporting the violent actions and provocations and announced the breaking of diplomatic and political relations with Colombia.
